Mujtaba (Mij) Rahman is the Director of the Eurasia Group. He leads and oversees the firm's analysis and advisory work on Europe, helping clients navigate the macro-politics of Brussels and its interaction with the member states across a wide range of policy areas. These include the politics of sanctions and Europe's broader response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, UK-EU relations, EU climate and fiscal politics, the Franco-German dynamic, the EU's management of Viktor Orban's Hungary, as well as the inter-institutional politics of and in Brussels.

Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Rahman worked at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs and at the UK Treasury. He is a senior visiting fellow at the London School of Economics, where he teaches political risk to graduate students, and is regularly quoted by the Financial Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Economist, Bloomberg, and many other media outlets. He is also a contributing author to Politico Europe, where he writes his monthly "Beyond the Bubble" column, and the New Statesman.

Rahman, who holds Master's degrees from Columbia University and the London School of Economics and Political Science, speaks French and Urdu.
