In a book presentation held by the Amsterdam Centre for European Studies (ACES), Raffaella del Sarto presented on her recently published book, ‘Resisting Europe,' which conceptualizes the foreign policies of Europe toward states in its immediate southern “neighborhood” as semi-imperial attempts to transform these states into Europe's southern buffer zone. Her book examines the diverse mechanisms through which the Mediterranean Middle East and North Africa (MENA) reject, resist, challenge, modify, or entirely change European policies and preferences.
