Ángel Ubide is Managing Director and Head of Economic Research for Fixed Income and Macro at Citadel. Prior to joining Citadel in 2018, Ubide held senior positions at Goldman Sachs, D.E. Shaw and Tudor Investment Corporation. He began his career as an economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 1996. Ubide has been closely involved in the global policy discussion, in particular as a Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. He is a member of: the Advisory Council on Economic Affairs of the Spanish Government, the New Bretton Woods Advisory Committee, the Steering Committee of the Euro 50 Group, and of the Economic Club of New York.

Ubide has published extensively on financial, economic and policy issues. In 2016 he received the Abramson Scroll from the National Association of Business Economics for his paper "The case for an Active Fiscal Policy in the Developed World". His book on economics, monetary policy, and markets, The Paradox of Risk, was published in 2017.

Ubide received a BA from the University of Zaragoza in Spain and an MA and PhD in Economics from the European University Institute in Florence, Italy.
