Bio
Lidia Ceriani is Adjunct Professor at SAIS Europe


Lidia Ceriani is a development economist with research interests in poverty and inequality measurement, and the impact of public policies on household welfare. From 2017 to 2024, she served as an Associate Teaching Professor at Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service in Washington, DC. Before her appointment at Georgetown, she worked as an Economist at the World Bank in the Poverty and Equity Global Practice and, most recently, was part of the team for the 2017 World Development Report. Between 2007 and 2012, she was a lecturer at Bocconi University, teaching Public Economics and Principles of Economics. She holds a PhD in Public Economics from the University of Pavia, Italy, and a BA in Economic and Social Sciences from Bocconi University, Milan, Italy, where she graduated with highest honors.
