Akihiro Kubo is an Associate Fellow at the Bologna Institute for Policy Research, Johns Hopkins SAIS Europe, and a Full Professor at Osaka Metropolitan University. His research focuses on international macroeconomics, fiscal policy, monetary policy, and exchange rate policy, with particular emphasis on emerging and small open economies. His research examines the effectiveness and transmission of macroeconomic policies using empirical macroeconomic models and international comparative analysis. His recent work focuses on fiscal policy effectiveness and the interaction between fiscal and monetary policy in Asian emerging economies.
