Shrinking Digital Spaces: The Hijacking of #Refugees Welcome Campaigns on Twitter
September 23, 2021

Nina Hall
Assistant Professor of International Relations
News Description
Professor Nina Hall co-authored the chapter "Shrinking Digital Spaces: The Hijacking of #Refugees Welcome Campaigns on Twitter" in the book Contentious Migrant Solidarity: Shrinking Spaces and Civil Society Contestation. The book argues that the notion of solidarity has become more prominent and more contentious in the face of the financial crisis and crisis of European migration politics. Throughout the chapters, the authors show how governmental and non-governmental organizations work against migrant solidarity and how civil society reacts to these restrictions.
