Professor Mark Gilbert recently gave a lecture in Prague on the overview of the impact of the Italian Communist Party on the shaping of post-war democracy on the Apennine Peninsula. He also elaborated on domestic political struggles, influenced by the pressures emanating from the Stalinist party center in Moscow and the challenges in forging relations with the emerging Eastern Bloc's communist parties.
